With Minecraft Expedition 1, we offer a series of 8 interactive digital lessons that introduce children aged 9 to 14 to the basics of coding through play. Fully accessible to beginners, with no foreknowledge required.

What is Minecraft Expedition 1?

We have programmed unique, ready-made Minecraft Education worlds, full of challenging coding tasks. Children explore the world independently thanks to light trails that show them a path to follow. On their way, they meet NPCs (characters) who give assignments and tips. Each assignment leads to a new part of the world, so learning proceeds step by step.

How it works?

• Light trails: Children follow the light trails to reach the next challenge.
• 8 unique coding missions: They solve small, step-by-step programming tasks to advance in the world. Each mission builds on the previous one, so children learn to program naturally.
• Delimited Minecraft Education worlds: After passing a mission, your child gains access to a new, exciting part of the world. Your child stays focused on the tasks. These worlds are downloaded through the learning platform and uploaded into Minecraft Education.
• Support via CodeCosmos: The online learning platform provides children with tutorials, challenging coding questions and additional guidance.

What does your child learn?

With Minecraft Expedition 1, children develop:

• The basics of coding, such as loops, variables, and logical structures.
  Essential digital skills such as problem-solving and computational thinking.
• Creativity and independence through challenging missions within a safe, structured learning environment.
• Knowledge of society topics through missions inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

How do you get started?

• Purchase the learning package: After purchase, you will receive access to our learning platform CodeCosmos and the lesson materials. If purchased you will also receive an email with your Minecraft Education Credentials
• Install Minecraft Education: Download Minecraft Education on your computer.
  Already have a Minecraft Education license? Then you can start right away!
• Activate your CodeCosmos account: Log in to CodeCosmos and get access to all lessons, explanations and support. You will also find a practical guide on how to install Minecraft Education.
• Start the adventure: Your child can now work independently on the 8 interactive missions.

• This package requires two licenses: one for Minecraft Education and one for CodeCosmos.
• Both licenses are valid for 1 year from the purchase date.
• Note: A standard Minecraft license is not the same as a license for Minecraft Education.
