APPLICABILITY
These general terms and conditions apply to all purchases of digital learning packages and products made through the codecosmos.com website. CodeCosmos is the brand under which FTRPRF bv sells digital learning materials. The seller and party responsible for the delivery of the products is FTRPRF bv, a company registered under Belgian law.
By placing an order, the consumer agrees to these terms and conditions.

 

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 
With the purchase of a digital teaching package (Scratch and/or Minecraft Education), the consumer gets access to an online platform (platform.ftrprf.be) where the teaching materials are available. These materials are for personal and educational use only.
The digital teaching materials are made available for one year. The date of purchase is considered the start date of this period. At the end of this period, access to the learning platform and teaching materials will expire unless the license is renewed.


Scratch learning package
The Scratch programming language is integrated into FTRPRF's learning platform. When purchasing a license, the consumer gains access to both the digital learning materials and the built-in coding environment. All lessons are available through the online platform at ftrprf.be.

A unique feature of this learning platform is the integrated code correction tool Coach Codi in our learning platform. This tool, developed by FTRPRF in collaboration with UGent, provides automatic feedback on the child's submitted code, allowing her to learn more independently and gain quicker insight into his/her mistakes.

Minecraft Education learning package
The Minecraft Education programming language is not integrated into FTRPRF's learning platform (CodeCosmos). Minecraft Education is a separate program that must be installed separately.

When purchasing the Minecraft Education curriculum package, we offer two options:

  • Lesson package without Minecraft Education license: This contains only the digital learning materials, including manuals and exercises using Minecraft Education. The consumer must provide their own valid Minecraft Education license.
  • Lesson Package including Minecraft Education license: This contains the digital learning materials as well as a separate license for Minecraft Education.

Content and Use of the Learning Package

  • CodeCosmos' teaching materials include pre-programmed worlds in Minecraft Education, richly filled with programming tasks.
  • These worlds must be uploaded into the separately installed Minecraft Education program before working with them.
  • The lessons themselves, such as tutorials and assignments, are available on the CodeCosmos learning platform (platform.ftrprf.be).

Important:

Minecraft Education license is different from a standard Minecraft license and must be installed and activated separately.
If desired, consumers may also purchase a license directly from Minecraft Education, provided they have a Microsoft 365 account. 

When purchasing, the option chosen and the steps required to install and activate Minecraft Education will be clearly stated.

 

PRICES AND PAYMENT
All prices are stated in euros and include VAT, unless otherwise indicated. Payment must be made in full via the available payment methods before access is granted to the platform.
 
DELIVERY/ACCESS TO THE LEARNING MATERIAL
When purchasing a digital learning package, the consumer will receive the necessary information and access after successful payment.

Lesson package Scratch 
After payment, you will receive a confirmation email containing the login information for the CodeCosmos platform. This will give you immediate access to the digital learning materials and the integrated coding environment.

Minecraft Education lesson package
Did you buy a Minecraft Education lesson package without Minecraft license: You will receive one email confirming your purchase. This email will contain the login details for the CodeCosmos platform, which will give you access to the lesson materials.
Did you purchase a Minecraft Education lesson package including Minecraft license: You will receive two separate emails:

An email confirming the purchase and the login details for the CodeCosmos platform, where the lesson material is available.
An email with the login information for Minecraft Education. Please note that you need to install Minecraft Education separately as a program.

Important:

  • Both licenses (CodeCosmos and Minecraft Education license) are valid for one year from the date of purchase. After this period, access will expire unless you renew the license.
  • Technical support is available in the learning platform itself, in the first lesson of your curriculum. Here you will find step-by-step guides and answers to common questions.

RETURN RIGHT
In accordance with the legislation, the right of withdrawal does not apply to the purchase of digital content that is delivered directly and whose execution has begun with the consumer's consent.
 


TERMS OF USE
When using our digital learning packages and FTRPRF's learning platform, the following terms and conditions apply:

  • Personal use
    The purchased teaching packages, including the digital teaching materials and access to the platform, are intended for personal use by the licensee only. It is not permitted to share the login details or the lesson materials with third parties.
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property
    All content, including but not limited to the lessons, manuals, and programming assignments, is protected by copyright and intellectual property rights of FTRPRF. Copying, reproduction, distribution, or disclosure of this material without prior written permission is not permitted.
  • Minecraft Education worlds
    The Minecraft Education worlds developed and offered by FTRPRF may only be used within the context of the curriculum for which they were purchased. It is strictly prohibited to share these worlds with third parties, copy them, upload them to other platforms, or otherwise use them outside the license terms.
  • License period
    The license to access the learning platform and the teaching materials is valid for one year from the date of purchase. After this period, access will expire unless the license is renewed.

Penalty provision for breach

  • For violation of the Terms of Use, including but not limited to sharing login credentials, learning materials or Minecraft Education worlds with third parties, FTRPRF reserves the right to:
    • Withdraw access to the learning platform immediately and without refund.
    • Impose a fine of €500 per violation to cover damages incurred.
    • Take further legal action if necessary
      LIABILITY FTRPRF is not liable for any technical issues arising from misuse of the platform or incompatibility with consumer devices. FTRPRF is not liable for the following situations:
  • Responsible use
    It is the responsibility of the consumer to ensure that the materials and software are used correctly and safely, in accordance with the manuals provided.

LIABILITY
FTRPRF is not liable for any technical problems resulting from misuse of the platform or incompatibility with consumer devices. FTRPRF is not liable for the following situations:

  • Platform downtime
    FTRPRF cannot be held responsible for technical problems or downtime of the learning platform. The platform may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates or other unforeseen technical issues. We do our best to minimize downtime, but cannot guarantee continuity of service.
  • Minecraft Education
    FTRPRF is not liable for any technical problems that occur while using Minecraft Education. Minecraft Education is an external product, and all support for technical problems with this program should be sought directly from the manufacturer (Microsoft).
  • Maintenance
    There may be periods of scheduled maintenance on the learning platform during which the platform is temporarily unavailable. We will communicate about scheduled maintenance periods in a timely manner when possible, but cannot be held liable for delays or damages caused by this maintenance.
  • Refunds
    After purchasing a lesson package, consumers cannot request a refund for any reason. Purchases of digital products, such as access to the lesson materials and platform license, are final and cannot be returned or credited.
  • Suitability of lessons
    FTRPRF cannot be held responsible if the content of the lessons does not match the consumer's expectations or if the lesson materials are not perceived as suitable for the child's level. It is the responsibility of the consumer to choose an appropriate curriculum based on the child's age and skill level.
  • Compatibility with Devices and Platforms
    FTRPRF is not responsible for problems caused by incompatibility of the learning platform, learning materials or software with the consumer's devices (computers, tablets, etc.) or operating systems. It is the responsibility of the consumer to ensure that the devices and software meet the requirements for use of the learning packages.
  • Installation Requirements for Minecraft Education
    FTRPRF is not responsible for the installation requirements or technical difficulties in installing Minecraft Education. It is the consumer's responsibility to ensure that their device meets the technical requirements for installing and using Minecraft Education. If installation issues occur, FTRPRF provides limited support within the limits of our team's technical knowledge. For detailed support or issues beyond our scope, consumers should contact Microsoft or official Minecraft Education support directly. 

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Ownership of Learning Materials
All learning materials, including but not limited to manuals, assignments, programs, and other educational materials developed by FTRPRF, are the property of FTRPRF and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or disclose these materials without prior written permission from FTRPRF.  

Minecraft Education lesson materials
The materials provided in connection with Minecraft Education, including the pre-programmed worlds and other content provided by FTRPRF, are also protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. This material is the property of FTRPRF or the respective rights holders, such as Microsoft, and may not be copied, shared or otherwise distributed without the express permission of FTRPRF or the rights owner.

<Restrictions on Use
The customer obtains a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the teaching materials and software for personal use, and solely in the context of the teaching package for which the customer has purchased a license. All other uses, such as commercial exploitation, duplication or distribution of the materials, are strictly prohibited.

Enforcement of Rights
FTRPRF reserves the right to take legal action for infringement of its intellectual property rights, including sharing or unauthorized use of the learning materials or Minecraft Education worlds.

 

COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES
Complaints can be reported at info@codecosmos.com.

Complaints
If the consumer has complaints about the product delivered or service provided, he or she may contact FTRPRF's customer service through the available communication channels. FTRPRF strives to resolve complaints in a satisfactory manner within a reasonable period of time.

Disputes
In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, it is the Ghent court that has jurisdiction to hear the dispute. This applies to both business and consumer disputes.

Applicable law
Belgian law applies to all agreements between FTRPRF and the consumer.

 

AMENDMENTS
FTRPRF bv reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The modified terms and conditions will be published on the website and will apply to new orders.

    • Phone: You can reach us by phone at +32 9 336 10 73 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays. Outside these hours we cannot be reached by phone.
  • Not reachable on weekends and holidays
    FTRPRF is closed on official (Belgian) holidays. During holidays, we cannot answer emails or take phone calls.
  • Collective closure
    FTRPRF has a collective closure from December 23 from 12am until January 2. During this period, we will not be available and no answers or services can be provided. Emails and messages will be answered after our January reopening.
